Frequently Asked Questions

Tutoring

Can I extend my session if needed?

It depends on your tutor’s availability. Please reach out to your tutor directly to discuss the possibility of extending your session.

How many sessions can I book weekly?

Students can book up to 5 sessions per week, depending on each tutor’s availability. We kindly ask that you respect our tutors’ time and the efforts of our dedicated volunteers.

Can I stay in touch through emails and phone numbers with my tutor?

Yes, of course! One of the goal of our tutoring program is to help build connections between tutors and students! Therefore, we encourage students to stay connected with their tutors.

I'm outside the U.S. can I still be a tutor or tutee?

Yes! Please make sure to double-check time zone differences before signing up for any class to ensure you never miss a session!

Why does it show that tutors are not available?

Tutor availability may vary based on their personal schedules. If no sessions are currently available, it could mean that all time slots are fully booked or tutors are temporarily unavailable. Please check back soon, as new time slots are added regularly!

What if I miss more than 3 sessions?

Please be respectful of our volunteers' time. Students who miss more than two sessions will not be able to book additional sessions for the next three months.

Volunteering

Can I earn community service hours by volunteering at PinkGap?

Yes! Absolutely! We can provide a volunteer hours form for your time. For PinkGap's outreach, social media, and fundraising team members, we offer monthly hours for students who complete their tasks.

Can I transfer my position if I no longer want to stay in this role?

Yes! We respect your time, and if you no longer feel aligned with your current role, please let us know early. We'd be happy to transfer you to another team that better fits your interests!

I can no longer be a member of PinkGap, what should I do next?

Let us know! Please email us one month ahead and complete your tasks before you leave.

I'm outside the U.S. can I still be a volunteer?

PinkGap is an international nonprofit with members from all over the world, including countries like Canada, China, France, Russia, India, and many more.

What would happen to inactive members?

We remove inactive members from our group on a yearly basis, as our ongoing webinars and conferences require members to complete their work by the deadlines. However, we always welcome anyone to rejoin at any time!
